Arquitectura Viva 237 - Harquitectes

Few studios have fared better in reading the panorama of a profession in times of crisis, working with limited budgets, often far from the big cities and with programs requiring a genuine dose of sustainability. Indeed for Harquitectes necessity can be a virtue, and it is also the key to an aesthetic of formal moderation and powerful materiality that connects architecture to its context, as shown by the four works featured in this issue of Arquitectura Viva: a winery in Tarragona, a house in Castelldefels, another one in Igualada, and the extension of the MACBA in Barcelona, won by competition with Christ & Gantenbein.
